We are so excited to announce our first community fundraising event for the Tawheed Community Centre (TCC): ONCE UPON A BOOK FAIR!
This Muslim Book fair is an event for the whole family. We will be transforming the gym at Safa & Marwa Islamic School into scenes from your favourite story books (yes, characters included!).
This event is being hosted by the TCC alongside Salam Sudduf, who ran the successful Ramadan Market this past year.
Get ready for an enchanted afternoon which celebrates Muslim authorship and our Islamic tradition of storytelling!
The event will include your favourite Muslim authors (Asmaa Hussein, Farheen Khan, etc), story time, vendors, a scavenger hunt, writing workshops, crafts & activities, a contest for the best storybook character costume (kids and adults), a polaroid booth, and more!
*Please note, the Friday schedule for islamic schools and home schoolers may not include all of these items*
ONCE UPON A BOOK FAIR is taking place on Friday November 30th from 9am to Noon for Islamic Schools + Home Schoolers, and then continued on Friday evening & Saturday December 1st for the Public.
We are giving Islamic Schools & Home Schoolers a special opportunity to experience this event before the public! We have 3 time slots available for Friday November 30th:
10:00 am to 10:45 am
11:00 am to 11:45 am
2:00 pm to 2:45 pm
We are able to accommodate 50 students for each time slot and we prefer to welcome 1 school per time slot. The slots will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. This school field trip segment is recommended for students Grades 1 to 7.
For the schools that register for this event, you will be given discounted tickets at $5 each which must be sent in at the time of receiving your confirmation of attendance. For homeschoolers, your attendance will be $5 per person 12 and over.
